New Dance Horizons is presenting a series of culturally engaged dance workshops designed to explore and share histories and practices of the traditional dances of the Canadian Métis people.
This special intercultural exchange event on March 21st will focus on First Nations Powwow dance and provide context to the history and relationship of Powwow and traditional Métis Dance. Participants will learn both basic Powwow steps and Métis Jig steps. They will also be encouraged to create their own unique mix of all the steps they’ve learned.
